Pirates & Poets

Pirates & Poets is bringing their showcase to Pirates Cove with Jerry Diaz, Aubrey Wollett, and Tommy Alverson!

Jerry Diaz is called the "Godfather of Trop Rock" for all the great events and music he has given us. He’s a songwriter, solo performer, and founder of the band "Hanna's Reef". The son of a merchant marine (R.L. Diaz) from the coast of Venezuela, and an artist (Irene Rivera) from Mexico, Diaz has both the nautical spirit and the gypsy flair running through his veins.

Aubrey Wollett tours all over the U.S. and has opened up for country artists such as Tanya Tucker, Billy Currington, Hunter Hayes, Wynonna Judd, Jerrod Niemann, and Carly Pearce. She also opened for Jay Leno on his comedy tour. Wollett’s single “Saltwater Gypsy” was premiered on CMT won 2019 Music Video of the year for the International Singer Songwriter Association Awards. Wollett’s latest EP has a two hit singles “Beach Vibes” and “Better on a Beach” which has won another ISSA Award, and both songs have hit #1 on the Trop Rock charts.

As stated in the Dallas Morning News, “Tommy Alverson should be the permanent face of the independent Texas country music movement. He embodies all the hallmarks of the sound, and the mind-set. …. He loves Americana music, that decidedly Texas blend of country, swing, Tex-Mex, Southern rock, folk and blues. He writes songs, but also has no qualms about recording good material from somebody else's pen. He's made a living playing music his way. Texas One More Time is Alverson's ninth disc in a career that has been incredibly steady. He's carved a livelihood playing and recording the music he cherishes in the state he calls home. That's the epitome of successful. He doesn't need anything else.”
